Absolute Tours AUCKLAND TOURS

Frequently Asked Questions

In what currency are your prices?

All tour prices, optional activities and other prices listed on this website or in information distributed by your guide are in New Zealand Dollars.

All taxes are included.

From where do your tours depart?

Absolute Tours will collect you from any hotel, motel, backpackers’, hostel or private address within the Auckland central business district or on the North Shore.

Pickups from other locations may also be possible, depending on the number of passengers.

You will be returned to the same place at the conclusion of your tour.

At what time do your tours depart and return?

Our Piha Beach tour departs at 10:00am and returns at approximately 5:00pm (17:00).

The Rotorua/Taupo tour departs at 10:00am and returns at approximately 7:00pm (19:00) the following day.

Beer Tasting tours depart at 12:00 noon and returns at approximately 4:00pm (16:00).

What will the weather be like?

The regions of New Zealand which we visit on our tours are well known for delivering “four seasons in one day”. We recommend that you dress in layers and/or bring clothing that can be quickly put on or taken off as changing conditions dictate.

What if it’s raining on the day of my tour?

Don’t worry. Our weather is famously changeable, and it’s highly likely that most of our destinations will remain dry… at least long enough for you to enjoy them.

Our forests (“the bush”) are generally well sheltered, so you should remain dry during the walks on our Piha Beach tour.

All of our tours depart daily, regardless of the weather.

Will I be able to go swimming?

Our Piha Beach tour includes the chance to swim beneath a waterfall, and some of the optional activities on our Rotorua/Taupo tour will almost certainly involve getting wet. Bring swimwear and a towel if you intend to take up any of these opportunities.

What about meals?

On the Piha Beach tour, we ask you to either bring your lunch with you, or purchase it at our first stop. Avondale has a selection of lunch bars, cafés, bakeries, etc. from which to choose.

Dinner is included in the Rotorua/Taupo tour, but you will need to purchase lunch each day and breakfast on the second day. Again, there is a wide range of options which will be made available to you throughout your tour.

Time constraints on the Beer Tasting tour mean that it is advisable to eat lunch prior to the tour, as we cannot remain at any of the taverns or breweries long enough to order and eat.
